I’ve always felt how lucky I was growing up in Connemara in the fifties.  To me, it was the last decade of the old ways.  We were so much in tune with nature and had so much respect for the land and sea.  We were a young country then, almost free at last, coming into our own–but all that changed with the advent of electricity coming in the sixties–and of course that once channel TV.  TO me that started the slippery slope of Humanity, our human radars are not in use anymore and we’re out of touch with Mother Earth.  There was a time when we knew where the wind was coming from, unfortunately, that’s not the way of the world now.  
I hope it’s not too late to relearn who we are and know which direction the wind is coming from and listen… Listen to each other… Listen to the Earth…Listen to everyone. Just listen.

Included on the album is a haunting original aire composed by Danny in memory of the many fishermen, including his Uncle Dan O’Flaherty, who drowned off the cliffs and coastlines of The Aran Islands. Also written by Danny is Siochain San Domain (Peace in the World). It is about a world without war, conflict or hunger so our children can live in peace and harmony. Lastly, Tears in the Wind is another original, slow aire composed for a movie about Richard Rowland Kirkland known as  “The Angel of Marye’s Heights”. He was a soldier during the American Civil War noted for his bravery and the story of his humanitarian actions during the Battle of Fredericksburg.

This led to our recording of The Monster Picnic.  We hope that the children and their moms and dads enjoy singing along together.  The other songs are based on fairy tales, sea creatures, and other animals on our planet.

We hope you enjoy this CD as much as we enjoyed writing and recording it for you.  

We want to thank all the musicians, St. Rosalie Middle School, Little Oak Middle School, and a very special thanks to Misha for his creativeness and hard work.  To our own families, thank you for your support.

We hope this CD will bring you joy and inform us all about our fragile planet.

All my life, I have wanted to record a group of songs that were meaningful…about things that I believe in.  With “From the Heart”, I have finally been able to achieve this.  Some of the songs I have written, others were written by friends, and still others were written by people who share my deep feelings and personal concerns.

Some of the songs are about love-love of another person, love of country; some are about respect, respect for the environment, respect for all people.  We must all learn to love and respect.

This recording is a testimonial to what I believe and because of these beliefs, all that I am today.  I hope you will enjoy listening as much as I have enjoyed singing them for you.
